The Heartsaver® CPR AED course at WNYHE is a dynamic, video-based training led by a certified American Heart Association (AHA) instructor. This course teaches essential life-saving skills including adult and child CPR, AED use, and choking relief for adults, children, and infants. (Note: Child and infant CPR modules are optional for those seeking adult-only certification.)
Participants learn using the practice-while-watching technique, a hands-on, interactive approach that’s recommended and proven effective by the AHA.
What’s Included in Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED
The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course includes all components of the standard CPR AED training, followed by additional instruction in basic first aid. This portion of the course covers the critical knowledge and skills needed to respond confidently to common emergencies until EMS personnel arrive on scene.
Participants learn using the practice-while-watching technique, a hands-on, interactive approach that’s recommended and proven effective by the AHA.

The primary goal of this Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is to improve survival rates and outcomes for adult patients experiencing cardiac arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies — by giving providers the knowledge, structure, and confidence to respond with precision.
All course content is aligned with the American Heart Association’s current standards, and certification is valid for two years.
